The 2020 S.H. Figuarts 'Son Goku -Kaioken-' is the brand's second release of a base Goku using this technique. Unlike the first one, this figure uses the 2.0 body from the 'Raised on Earth' Goku, with a recolor and a new hairstyle featuring a wind or ki effect. The kanji on the outfit are the ones he wears during the Namek Saga.
This articulated Son Goku "Kaioken" figure was released in 2020 with a regular run, being the 83rd release in the Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts collection.
This is the second figure the brand has released of this character using the Kaioken technique. The first figure had two exclusive releases in 2017, for SDCC and the Tamashii World Tour. That version was based on the Saiyan Saga from DBZ and featured the "North Kai" kanji on the back and the Turtle School symbol on the chest. This time, it’s based on the Namek Saga, which is why it has the "Son" kanji on both the chest and back.
Its design, sculpt, articulation, and accessories are the same as the 2018 figure "A Saiyan Raised on Earth," with the addition of a new hairstyle featuring a movement or ki effect, as well as a different color scheme and kanji. But essentially, it’s just another Goku 2.0 figure.
In 2023, the figure was re-released with a matte finish and the subtitle "180000 Power Level," but as a U.S. exclusive.
From listacompletade.com, we recommend this figure if you're a completionist or really enjoy this technique used by our protagonist—because beyond that, it’s still just another 2.0 Goku.
