This 2020 S.H. Figuarts 'Great Ape Vegeta' is one of the largest articulated figures in the collection. With a 100% original design and a unique joint structure based on the 3.0 system, this Great Ape Vegeta can even articulate its tongue. Additionally, it comes with a stand, a static mini-figure of Yajirobe, and hands crushing a static Goku figure scaled to match the Great Ape.
This articulated Great Ape Vegeta figure was released in 2020 as a Tamashii Web Exclusive, making it the 89th figure in the Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts collection.
This is the first and only figure released to date (2025) of a Saiyan transformed into its Oozaru ape form, with the first being the Prince of the Saiyan race, based on the battle with Goku on Earth during the Saiyan saga.
It stands about 30 cm tall, making it one of the tallest figures in the collection, alongside Shenron and Porunga. However, like the two dragons, its scale is a bit off. Despite its size, it's small next to other Dragon Ball SHF figures; you can see this when comparing the figures included as accessories, like the 'crushed' Goku and Yajirobe, which are scaled correctly with the Great Ape.
Despite the scale, we can say that its sculpt is one of the best in the entire brand, as no details were spared due to its size. Its articulation system is very similar to the 3.0, but they all have a 'click' mechanism, and it even has articulation in the mouth and tongue, although some areas, like the shoulders, don't look very aesthetic.
As for its accessories, it comes with a full tail and a cut one to pose it with Yajirobe. It also includes a stand appropriate for the size of the figure to hold both it and Yajirobe. Additionally, it includes a pair of hands that crush Goku. In truth, it comes with the right accessories to recreate the iconic poses of the character in this transformation.
According to listacompletade.com, it is a figure we recommend, but only if you find it at a good price, because what collectors really hope for is a re-release of this figure or another Oozaru in the future, with new technology and design.
