This is a 1/6 scale articulated figure collection dedicated to Dragon Ball, released by Bandai under the "Limit Breaker Series" label. While designed as toys, they are notable for their great quality-price ratio. Each figure includes around five points of articulation, and the collection has already exceeded 30 releases. What are the Limit Breakers?
The Limit Breaker Series are a line of articulated figures in 1/6 scale (approximately 12") created and distributed by Bandai exclusively for Dragon Ball. They are intended to be sold as toys for children over 4 years old, though, due to their quality/price, some collectors choose this brand.
You should be very clear that these are large 30 cm toys, not a 1/6 scale figure like Hot Toys for Marvel; they have a finish designed for children to play with, featuring rough articulation.
After this warning, with this collection, Bandai brings us large-sized figures with sculpting identical to that used in Dragon Stars, and they don’t look bad at all when displayed in a showcase.
You should know this before starting the Limit Breaker Series collection.
The first thing to consider is that Bandai has already released over 30 different Limit Breaker Series Dragon Ball figures since 2019. This is a decent number if your goal is to complete the collection, although the earlier figures, like Broly, may be hard to find.
The second point is that almost all the figures have regular releases; the few exclusives are figure packs that you can find in the regular line with no major differences.
The third consideration is that this collection has two different lines: "Regular" and "Sparking", which mainly differ in that the Sparking versions feature lights and sounds.
The fourth and final consideration for collecting these toys is their price, which hovers around $25. For a figure of this size, quality, and price, no one can really complain.
