This S.H. Figuarts Super Saiyan Son Goku <The Games Begin>, released in 2025, is based on DBZ’s Cell Games arc. It’s a regular figure with standard accessories, featuring a new sculpt and 4.0 articulation architecture, positioning its body as the 'standard' for upcoming Goku figures in this outfit across his various transformations.
This articulated figure, 'Super Saiyan Son Goku <The Games Begin>', was released in 2025 as a regular release, and is the 198th entry in the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball collection.
It marks the fifth release of this SSJ Goku version based on DBZ’s Android and Cell arcs. The first two figures, using the 1.0 body, came out in 2010 and the 2011 exclusive; the third was released in 2021 with a 2.0 body, and the fourth, also 2.0, was a Tamashii Shop exclusive in 2024. This fifth version, as of 2025, is considered the best, featuring the new 4.0 body.
In terms of accessories, it's quite complete for a regular figure, offering plenty of hands and facial expressions, as well as two SSJ hair sculpts: one static and one with a motion effect.
This is the second Goku figure to feature the 4.0 body—the first being Adult Goku from Daima. While that figure introduced the new body type, this release fully showcases its aesthetic and mobility improvements (an image in the gallery highlights these upgrades). Moreover, since this Goku wears his iconic Turtle School uniform, it has now been established as the new standard body for future Goku releases in this outfit—similar to how the widely used 2.0 body varied only in colors, belts, or kanji symbols.
From listacompletade.com, we 100% recommend this figure. Being a regular release, it will get restocks, it's relatively affordable, and it features the latest joint technology available as of 2025.
