This S.H. Figuarts Super Saiyan 2 Son Goku, released as an 'Exclusive Edition' for events like SDCC 2022, brings us a new version of the character, now in SSJ2. The figure reuses the sculpt and 2.0 body design from other Goku figures, featuring new elements such as updated coloring, a new hairstyle, new facial expressions, and a never-before-seen ki aura.
This articulated figure, 'Super Saiyan 2 Son Goku', was released in 2022 as an 'Exclusive Edition' for that year's events such as SDCC. It is also the 128th figure in the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball collection.
This release breaks the 'rule' that exclusives are merely repaints of previous figures. This version of the protagonist transformed into SSJ2, taken from DBZ during the Majin Buu saga, specifically his fight against Majin Vegeta, is a brand-new version never seen before in the collection — both in terms of saga placement and transformation.
Its design and sculpt are very similar to other Goku figures with the 2.0 body, as it reuses the body from the 2017 'Super Saiyan God Son Goku', and some faceplates from the 2021 'Super Saiyan Full Power Son Goku'. What’s new includes a newly sculpted and improved faceplate, overall repainting, a newly sculpted chest, and a brand-new hairstyle.
As for accessories, it includes several hands and faceplates, as well as a ki aura with a completely new design into which 4 lightning effects can be attached to simulate SSJ2.
To complement this figure, as of 2025, we have two releases of Majin Vegeta: one from 2018 and another event-exclusive from 2023.
As an extra curiosity, in 2025, this figure was re-released as a Tamashii Store exclusive edition.
At listacompletade.com, we recommend this figure whenever you can find it at a good price — whether it's this version or the 2025 one — it remains a great Super Saiyan 2 Goku figure.
