This S.H. Figuarts – Yamcha 'Earth's Foremost Fighter' – from 2024 brings us the version of Yamcha seen in DBZ during the Androids and Cell saga. The figure reuses most of the body from his previous version, with new additions including the faces, hair, and chest. What stands out most, however, are the accessories designed to be used alongside Android 20.
This articulated figure – Yamcha 'Earth’s Foremost Fighter' – was released in 2024 as a Tamashii Web Exclusive, being figure number 165 in the Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts collection.
This is the second figure the brand has released of this character. The first came out in 2017 under the name 'Yamcha', inspired by the Saiyan saga and his fight against the Saibaman. For this second figure, they also drew inspiration from Dragon Ball Z, but now from the Androids and Cell saga and his battle against Dr. Gero.
The design and sculpt of this figure reuse nearly the entire body from the 2017 version, except for the chest. The hair and faces are new. Because the body is recycled, it has a 2.0 articulation system, which, being a "new" figure released in 2024, was disappointing—especially since the brand was already using the 3.5 body.
The accessories sparked debate: if you only have Yamcha, you can only use 3 faces and the hands because the figure includes a kit with a face and right arm system from the Android 20 figure to recreate the moment he stabs Yamcha through the chest while covering his mouth with one hand. Honestly, if you don’t have that figure, these accessories are useless, leaving this figure with fewer accessories than a regular, cheaper figure.
According to listacompletade.com, it’s a figure we recommend despite being outdated with the 2.0 body, since only two Yamcha figure models exist, and most collectors will want one to complete their Z Warriors.
