The S.H. Figuarts – Son Goku "The Innocent Challenger" – was an exclusive release for Tamashii Stores during 2023. The figure reuses the sculpt and body of the 2018 Kid Goku, with a more intense repaint, slight improvements to the faces, far fewer accessories, but with the novelty of including a new hairstyle with a motion effect.
This articulated figure – Son Goku "The Innocent Challenger" – was released in 2023 as an exclusive edition, sold only through Tamashii Stores during that year. It is figure number 153 in the Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts collection.
This is the first Tamashii Store-exclusive figure dedicated to the S.H.F. Dragon Ball line. In 2024, we got the second one: –Super Saiyan Goku 'Z Fighter'–.
Among all Goku figures, this is the fourth release of a Kid Goku based on the classic Dragon Ball era. All four releases, including this one, share the same design, sculpt, and Kid 1.0 body/articulation type, based on the 2018 Kid Goku. It wasn’t until the release of the '40th Anniversary Edition' in 2025 that we saw a new design and sculpt for Goku from this era.
As we already know from previous versions of this Kid Goku, the scale is off: the figure is too tall and has a large head when placed next to an adult character figure. This issue is corrected in the DB Daima mini figures, Goku 'GT', and the 40th Anniversary Goku.
This figure differs from the 2018 original with a more intense paint job, far fewer accessories, but notable improvements in the face sculpts using more modern technology. It also includes a unique new hairstyle showing our favorite Saiyan’s hair with a motion effect.
From listacompletade.com, this is a figure we recommend only to completionists or if you find it cheap, since sooner or later Tamashii will release this Kid Goku version with updated body type and scale.
