This S.H. Figuarts – Son Goku & Son Gohan 'Kid' & Kintoun 'Exclusive Edition', released for SDCC 2024, brings us back to the beginning of Dragon Ball Z with father and son and the Kintoun cloud. The Goku figure reuses the body from other 2.0 Gokus but with new faces and two hairstyles; the Gohan figure is semi-articulated and includes two bodies; the magic cloud comes with two 'tails' for posing; and the set also includes the Power Pole.
This articulated figure – Son Goku & Son Gohan 'Kid' & Kintoun 'Exclusive Edition' was released exclusively for San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2024, being the 171st release in the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball line.
Normally, event exclusives are repaints of older, popular figures with minor extras, but in this case, they went all out. The only “reused” part is Goku’s 2.0 body with new paint — the rest is entirely new.
If we consider this release a Goku figure, it uses the body from Son Goku “A Saiyan Raised on Earth” (2018), but with newly sculpted faces and hairstyles — one of them featuring a wind-blown effect. The hands are also partly unique: two are specifically for holding the included Power Pole, and another is for simulating him holding Gohan. His outfit also has a different color scheme and features the Turtle School kanji.
That kanji detail is exclusive to this release — it’s the first figure to represent the Raditz arc of Dragon Ball Z, which is why Goku wears Master Roshi’s symbol on both his chest and back.
In 2025, a U.S.-exclusive re-release of this figure came out, named Son Goku "The Lowest Born Saiyan", but without Gohan or Kintoun. This version features the Turtle School kanji on the chest and the Kaio-Sama kanji on the back.
Back in 2017, the figure Son Goku – “Kaiohken Ver.” was released for both SDCC and the Tamashii World Tour. Those were Goku figures with the 1.0 body, and until this new release, they were the only ones based on the Saiyan Saga, though from the Vegeta and Nappa arc. Those had the Turtle School kanji on the chest and King Kai’s symbol on the back.
Now, moving on to the accessories: the first is Kid Gohan, a figure with articulation in the neck, ponytail, tail, shoulders, hands, feet, and waist. It also comes with two body versions to allow for more dynamic poses. The sculpt is entirely new, although the design is similar to the Kid Gohan included with the SDCC 2023 Raditz figure (you can see comparison photos in the gallery).
The second major accessory is the Kintoun Cloud, also with a brand-new sculpt. It includes two tails or trails and has holes for attaching supports. However, it requires two stands to “fly,” and they are not included.
At listacompletade.com, we recommend this figure to anyone who can get it at a fair price — it’s a 100% worthwhile set.
