This S.H. Figuarts – Android 20 – from the year 2024 brings us Dr. Gero already transformed into an android, just as we saw him in Dragon Ball Z. It’s a completely new figure design that includes a special joint system, mixing 2.0, 3.0, and shoulder articulation similar to Android 19. As for accessories, it’s quite complete and includes a face for 2021’s SSJ Goku.
This articulated figure – Android 20 – was released in 2024 as a Tamashii Web Exclusive, being figure number 162 in the Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts collection.
This is the first figure Tamashii has released of Dr. Gero, based on his first appearance in Dragon Ball Z: the Android and Cell saga, already transformed into an android.
As extra info, in 2023 the figure of Android No. 19, Dr. Gero’s assistant, was released.
The design and sculpting of this figure is completely new due to the unique nature of this character, with very good results. For its joint system, they used a combination of 3.0, 2.0, and the “special” system used in the Android 19 figure, giving very good upper body movement, but since the hips use 2.0 joints, it loses a lot of leg mobility in opening and extension.
Regarding accessories, it’s a very complete figure, with enough hands and faces. Notable is the “hat” swap, where you can change the hat for the “glass showing the brain.” It also includes the remote control to deactivate androids 17 and 18, and as a bonus, it includes a face for Super Saiyan Full Power Son Goku from 2021, with a sweating expression that clearly shows he’s suffering from heart disease.
A few months after this figure’s release, the Yamcha "Earth's Foremost Fighter" figure was launched, which includes a hands/arms kit to simulate when Dr. Gero pierces his chest while covering his mouth to keep him from screaming.
From listacompletade.com, this is a figure we recommend to fans of this saga and collectors, since it’s not a very charismatic character. If you buy this, logically you should also get Android 19 and even Yamcha.
