This S.H. Figuarts of Jackie Chun is the second release by the brand of Master Roshi, now based on his alter ego used in the classic Dragon Ball tournaments. It’s a figure that reuses much of the sculpt and articulation system from the original, allowing many accessories to be swapped with full compatibility.
This articulated "Jackie Chun" figure was released in 2020 as a Tamashii Web Exclusive. It is also the 82nd release in the Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts collection.
This is the second figure the brand has released of the character Master Roshi, this time based on the classic Dragon Ball saga—specifically when he disguised himself as "Jackie Chun" to participate in martial arts tournaments and prevent Goku or Krillin from winning and letting it go to their heads. The first version of Roshi was released in 2018 and comes with his classic outfit and turtle shell.
Its design, articulation, and sculpt are very similar to—and based on—the 2018 figure, but it includes some differences and new features. For example, it includes interchangeable wrist parts for rolled-up or loose sleeves; the sculpt of the shoes is also different, and most notably, instead of full alternate heads, this figure uses the standard hair + faceplate system. Additionally, this is the only figure that allows the 'mouth' parts to be swapped between faceplates. Yes, the three interchangeable faces can each swap their 'mouth + beard + mustache', giving us a total of nine combinations.
Almost all of its accessories—as well as those from the 2018 figure—are interchangeable. This figure includes the hole in the back for attaching the turtle shell, and the hands and heads are also compatible.
From listacompletade.com, this is a figure we recommend—as long as you can find it at a good price, and even more so if you already own the 2018 Roshi. And if you want to see an unboxing of the figure, you can watch the video we've prepared from the YouTube channel Andoru Rohan, who shows it to us with great enthusiasm.
