This S.H. Figuarts 'Android No. 17 -Event Exclusive Color Edition-', released exclusively for Comic Con @ Home 2020, is a re-release with color changes of the 1.5 version of this character originally launched in 2014. Like the original, it comes loaded with multiple accessories and two hairstyles, and in addition to the color changes, the facial expressions have been improved.
This articulated figure "Android No. 17" was released exclusively for Comic Con @ Home 2020 as part of the 'Event Exclusive Color Edition' line, and it is figure number 86 in the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball collection.
Comic Con @ Home was the name given to SDCC events held during the Covid-19 pandemic, when restrictions on movement and social gatherings were in place.
As is typical for 'Exclusive Event' releases, this figure is a recolored re-release of a previously launched figure. Specifically, this release is a "clone" of the Android 17 figure originally launched in 2014: same sculpt, same accessories, and the same 1.5 articulation system.
As mentioned, the main differences are in the recolored paint scheme — which can be clearly seen in the comparison image from the gallery — and the updated packaging. Additionally, the facial expressions have been slightly modified, with improved paint application techniques that enhance the overall look.
Like the original, this figure is based on Android 17's appearance in Dragon Ball Z, during the Android and Cell saga. Besides this version, there is also a Dragon Ball Super version from 2021, based on the Tournament of Power arc, and a Dragon Ball GT version, "Super 17", released in 2024.
At listacompletade.com, we recommend this figure — or the original — if you find it at a good price, as they are the only existing S.H. Figuarts versions of this Android in his DBZ appearance.
