This S.H. Figuarts 'Android No. 18 -Event Exclusive Color Edition', released exclusively for Comic-Con @ Home 2020, is a re-release with color changes of the 1.0 version of this character originally launched in 2014, but without the extras for Krillin. It still includes the dual hair pieces with and without movement effects.
This articulated figure 'Android No. 18' was released exclusively for Comic-Con @ Home in 2020 as an 'Event Exclusive Color Edition,' making it the 87th figure in the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball collection.
Comic-Con @ Home was the name given to the SDCC events during the mobility and social distancing limitations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Like other 'Exclusive Event' figures, this is a re-release of a previously launched figure with a recolor. Specifically, this release is a 'clone' of the Android 18 figure launched in 2014: the same sculpt, almost the same accessories, and the same 1.0 articulation system. The accessories not included in this version are: one less face and the head, hand, and switch designed for the 2013 Krillin figure.
As mentioned, this figure differs from the original in the coloring; we can see the differences in a comparative image in the gallery. It also differs in packaging, and additionally, there is an improvement in the faces, with slight differences in some of the expressions and a better technique for applying them.
This figure, like the original, is based on Dragon Ball Z, the Androids and Cell saga. Besides this version, there is another figure of this character based on DB Super, the Tournament of Power arc, from 2021, which has a 3.0 body.
From listacompletade.com, it is a figure we recommend if you find it at a good price—either this one or the original—since they are the only ones that exist for this Android based on DBZ.
Apart from all of this, if you want to see an unboxing with a comparison, we invite you to watch the video prepared by our friend from the YouTube channel El Cuarto 4to Gamer MX, who shows it off with great pleasure.
