This S.H. Figuarts —Super Saiyan Son Goku (Warrior of Rage)— from 2026 brings back this version of Goku, representing his first transformation into Super Saiyan during the battle against Frieza on Namek, as seen in DBZ. His original 2015 version and the 2023 event-exclusive reissue are now obsolete with this new release, featuring a 4.0 body, dual hairstyles, and faces compatible with Goku 'Legendary'.
This articulated figure —Super Saiyan Son Goku (Warrior of Rage)— was released in 2026 as a Tamashii Web Exclusive, being the 217th figure in the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball collection.
This version of the character is based on Dragon Ball Z’s Namek Saga, specifically the moment of his first transformation into a Super Saiyan during the battle against Frieza — in the first half of the fight, which is why he’s still wearing his blue undershirt and not overly muscular yet.
In 2015, the brand released the first figure based on this version and scene — the highly sought-after Super Saiyan Son Goku “Super Warrior Awakening Ver.”, notable for being the first figure to feature the 2.0 body.
In 2023, as an event-exclusive edition, we got a re-release of the 2015 figure with a recolor and minor aesthetic improvements: “Super Saiyan Son Goku ‘Exclusive Edition’”. Since it was a reissue, it continued to use the 2.0 body.
In 2025, with the release of “Son Goku (Adult) ‘Daima’”, Tamashii introduced the first 4.0 body. With subsequent releases like “Super Saiyan Son Goku ‘The Games Being’” and “Son Goku (Kind-hearted Saiyan)”, Tamashii made it clear that we won’t be seeing 2.0 bodies in new figures anymore — in fact, they’ve begun replacing older 2.0 figures with brand-new 4.0 versions.
That’s exactly the case here: this figure features an entirely new design and sculpt, using the new 4.0 articulation system with improvements in the ankles, knees, hips, waist, and shoulders. It also seems that this model reintroduces the chest joint, which was removed from early 4.0 figures for aesthetic reasons. The new sculpt is truly a 10 out of 10.
As for accessories, it includes plenty of interchangeable hands and faces, as well as a second hairstyle with a wind or motion effect.
As an extra curiosity (confirmed by the brand), the faces of this figure are interchangeable with those of “Super Saiyan Son Goku ‘Legendary Super Saiyan’” (3.0 body, 2023) and its ‘Best Selection’ reissue from 2025.
From listacompletade.com, this figure is 100% recommended for everyone — even if you already own the 2.0 versions from 2016 or 2023 — since this model far surpasses its predecessors in quality, aesthetics, and articulation.
