This S.H. Figuarts Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Son Goku "Kaio-Ken" Event Exclusive Color Edition, released exclusively for NYCC 2021, is a figure that reuses the body and sculpt from other Gokus, with a recoloring that gives it the appearance of combining the Kaio-Ken technique with the SSJ Blue transformation. It also includes a Ki aura effect.
This articulated Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Son Goku "Kaio-Ken" figure was released exclusively for NYCC 2021 as an Event Exclusive Color Edition, and it is figure number 113 in the Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts collection.
This is the first version of Goku in SSJ Blue + Kaioken that the brand has released, which is somewhat unusual for event exclusives, as they typically are re-releases of previously launched versions with a repaint or some addition. But for the 2021 New York Comic Con, they brought us a new version of our protagonist.
Regarding design and sculpt, the figure is not original: it reuses the 2.0 body already used in the Goku UI 'Sign' event exclusive of 2021, and the hair and faces from the 2019 Goku SSJ Blue figure. By combining these figures and a recolor, they created this new version taken from DB Super, from the Champa Tournament battle against Hit.
As accessories, it includes the typical ones for a regular figure in terms of hands and faces, and as a bonus, it includes a Ki aura effect with colors matching this transformation.
In 2023, exclusively for V-Jump, they re-released the figure but with traditional packaging and without the Ki aura effect.
From listacompletade.com, it is a figure we can recommend—not only to collectors—provided you find this or the 2023 version at a good price, as its coloring gives it that unique touch that other SSJ Blue Gokus don’t have.
Besides all this, if you want to see an unboxing with a comparison, I invite you to watch the video from our friend on the YouTube channel El Cuarto 4to Gamer MX, who shows it to us with great enthusiasm.
