The 2018 S.H. Figuarts 'Son Goku «A Saiyan Raised on Earth»' may be the most re-released and best-selling figure in the entire collection. Featuring a 2.0 body that reuses the sculpting from previous figures, the only original parts are the faces. Despite this, due to its affordability and regular release, it has been marked as the iconic 'Base Goku' of the brand.
This 'Son Goku «A Saiyan Raised on Earth»' figure was first released in 2018 with a regular run; since then, it has had multiple restocks (still in 2025). It is also the 52nd figure in the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball collection.
Although it is the first Base Goku figure released with a 2.0 body, everything except the faces is reused from other figures. Specifically, it is a clone of the 2017 Super Saiyan God Goku, with a different recolor and faces. Also, its belt is now 'bow' styled, but it is the same one we saw on the 2017 Yamcha figure.
Regardless of the above, it is the figure with the most restocks, but it hasn't appreciated in resale value yet (in 2025), which is due to Tamashii ensuring it was a regular release with low costs, keeping the price relatively low, not more than 30€.
Due to its popularity, there have been at least three accessory releases for this figure: Ki effects, a table with chairs and food, and the Namekian medical capsule. It's certainly the most exploited Goku figure by the brand.
Furthermore, Tamashii didn't release another Base Goku until the Super Hero movie, which has better details on the faces, but imitates the movie's colors and was less successful. The next Base Goku arrived in 2024 as an 'Exclusive Event,' and in 2025, another exclusive was released for the USA, each one different in its way, but all with a 2.0 body. The most different is the Daima version, which has a 4.0 body and promises to be the 'standard' mold for future figures of this character.
At Listacompletade.com, we recommend this figure for its affordability and compatibility with the accessories released for it, though personally, we prefer the 'Super Hero' version.
