The S.H. Figuarts Perfect Cell 'Premium Color Edition', released in 2017, is a reissue of the original 2012 figure, featuring the same sculpt, articulation, and accessories. The only differences lie in the packaging and color scheme, with this edition sporting colors that are more faithful to those seen in the anime.
This Perfect Cell 'Premium Color Edition' figure was released in 2017, marking the 36th release in the Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts collection as a Tamashii Web Exclusive.
The 'Premium Color Editions' are re-releases of figures with exclusive runs, featuring variations in color or other aspects, and are also limited editions in some form.
In this case, it's a re-release of the 2012 Cell figure, which had paler colors, more similar to those Akira used in the manga at times. This edition has the more vivid colors seen in the anime. Otherwise, the sculpt and accessories are identical, with the body (1.5) being the same; only the color and packaging have changed.
A fun fact is that, since it’s a re-release of a 2012 figure, Tamashii used the same type of box as the original, even though by 2017 they were already using the current packaging style (2025). You can see images above comparing both versions.
Another interesting point is that it was the second figure released in 2017, the first being the SSJ2 Son Gohan with Battle Damage, so it’s no coincidence that they were consecutive releases or the choice of this figure for re-release.
At Listacompletade.com, we recommend this figure over the original 2012 release and even more than the 'Exclusive Event' from 2018. All three are essentially the same figure with different colors, and in our opinion, this is the best one. However, tastes vary, and if you can get any of the three at a good price, go for it, because as of today (2025), no other S.H. Figuarts Perfect Cell has been released.
