The S.H. Figuarts of Android No. 17 was released in 2014 as part of the Dragon Ball collection, making it the 18th figure in the line and the first of the character. Based on his appearance in DBZ, this figure came loaded with accessories: two hairstyles, two scarves, two belts, etc. It also included a 1.5 body, very close to the 2.0 version, which provided incredible articulation. Without a doubt, a figure that doesn’t seem like it's from 2014.
This Android No. 17 figure is based on his first appearance in the Cell saga. It is the first figure of this character in the S.H. Figuarts collection. A few months before this release, Android No. 18 was launched, so with this one, we could finally get the twin siblings, Lapis and Lazuli.
This figure was released as a Tamashii Web Exclusive, and except for another exclusive edition with a repaint for 2020 events (SDCC, NYCC, etc.), as of 2025, no other figure of this character based on this saga has been released.
By 2014, Tamashii Nations was very close to releasing the 2.0 body, and with this figure, they were very close, but it still remained a 1.5 version. However, the articulation was aesthetically pleasing, though the shoulder pad articulation was a bit odd.
Regarding accessories, it came very, very complete: two hairstyles and two scarves (one static and one with a motion effect) added a lot of dynamism to its poses, along with two belts, pistols, and more. Honestly, few figures have come out as complete as this one.
Our recommendation: get it if you can, or get the 2020 event edition. Its quality has nothing to envy compared to what is made today, and besides, if we want a DBZ Android No. 17, there isn't much to choose from...
Finally, if you want to see an unboxing review of this figure, we've left a video from the Didimos-Collection channel, which shows it off perfectly.
