This articulated Super Saiyan God Son Goku figure was released exclusively for Comic Con @ Home 2021 with an 'Event Exclusive Color Edition' run, making it the 106th figure in the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball collection.
Comic Con @ Home was the name given to SDCC events during the mobility and social distancing restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Like most event-exclusive figures, this is a re-release of the 2017 SSJ God Goku, maintaining the sculpt, 2.0 body, and accessories, but with new packaging and a recolor, now with more intense tones than the original.
What makes this figure stand out among all those released by the brand for Dragon Ball is that the hair of this Super Saiyan God is translucent, an effect that would be repeated in future event figures such as 'Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Son Goku "Kaio-Ken"' from 2021.
This is the second of three releases for this figure to date. The first had a Tamashii Web run and was the aforementioned 2018 release. However, in 2024, another variant was released with a different color scheme, but this time with a regular run and under the name 'Saiyan God Instilled with the Light of Righteous Hearts.'
