This 2022 S.H. Figuarts 'Son Goku -Super Hero-' is the second version of a 'Base Form Goku' featuring the 2.0 body and articulation system, this time based on the Dragon Ball Super movie 'Super Hero'. The figure fully reuses the sculpt and design from previous versions, with a new color scheme and newly painted facial expressions.
This articulated 'Son Goku -Super Hero-' figure was released in 2022 with a regular production run and has had several restocks since then. Additionally, it is the 124th figure in the Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts collection.
Among all the SHF figures released for Goku, this is the second one the brand has made of the character in 'base form' with a 2.0 body, based on DB Super 'Super Hero.' The other was released in 2018, subtitled 'A Saiyan Raised on Earth,' based on DBZ, the Namek saga. It wasn’t until 2024, at SDCC, that they released another one along with a Kinton cloud and a mini Gohan, this one based on the Saiyan Saga. In 2025, they released the latest Base Form Goku using the exclusive 2.0 body for the USA, also based on the Saiyan Saga, subtitled 'The Lowest Born Saiyan.'
As an extra note, in 2025, based on Dragon Ball Daima, the first 'base' Goku with a 4.0 body was released, which has little to do with the others.
The design and sculpt of this figure reuse everything from other previously released Gokus. For example, the entire body is the same as the 'Super Saiyan God Son Goku' from 2018, and the belt is from the 'Raised on Earth' Goku. The only new things are the colors used and the design of the faces.
Regarding its accessories, they are typical for any figure with a regular production run: a few hands and faces.
From listacompletade.com, this figure is recommended for collectors and those who like this version over others, as it is a relatively inexpensive and easy-to-find figure. It’s not a bad figure, but soon we will have a Base Goku with the classic outfit with the 4.0 body, so it might be worth waiting (this was written in 2025).
