The S.H. Figuarts of Android No. 16 was released in 2015 and is based on his only appearance during the Cell saga in Dragon Ball Z. It is a figure with a unique mold, large in size, and features a 1.5 articulation system. It comes with few accessories, but the final result of this android is outstanding even after more than 10 years.
The release of Android No. 16 was the 20th figure in the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball collection. Its release was a 'Tamashii Web Exclusive,' meaning it has not been re-stocked since (except for the 2022 event exclusive, which is a repaint). Additionally, with this release, Tamashii ensured that we could complete the trio of androids, as No. 17 and No. 18 were released the previous year.
Its body is 1.5, with particular details such as the shoulder pad articulation and a mechanism in the forearms that allows them to be removed to reveal the cannons hidden inside, as seen in an image in the gallery above.
As expected, its design is the only one we have of the character, as he appeared and died in the Cell Saga. But it’s very well done, and the inclusion of a battle-damaged head is a fantastic detail from the brand.
It is a figure with few accessories, but this is compensated by its unique systems and size, measuring almost 18 cm, which is more than Goku’s 14 cm but less than Broly’s 22 cm.
It is a figure that has not had a new version with a new body type and sculpting as of today (2025), which makes it essential for many, raising its price. However, if you find this one or the event version at an acceptable price, don’t hesitate.
