This 2022 S.H. Figuarts -Shenron- was released as an ‘Exclusive Edition’ for events like SDCC. The figure is a metallic repaint of the original 2017 version, featuring the same accessories, sculpt, and articulation system, giving it a stunning appearance while still retaining the limitations of the first version.
This articulated figure – Shenron – was released in 2022 as an 'Exclusive Edition' during events like SDCC; it is also the 131st figure in the Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts collection.
Like most event-exclusive figures, this Earth dragon figure is a re-release of a previous figure with a recolor. The original is from 2017, and the differences between the two are basically two: the coloring and the packaging, where the exclusive version featured here has metallic colors while the original has matte colors.
The design and sculpt are the same as the original, which doesn’t detract from its quality at all, as both design and sculpt are very good; where the figure still falls short like the original is in its scale, which is very small for who it is, and its articulation system, which has caused headaches and frustration for more than one collector.
As of the writing of this page in 2025, only these two figures of the Earth’s magical dragon exist, although at the end of 2022 we had the Namek dragon figure, Porunga, which includes Dende and comes with lights and sounds.
From listacompletade.com, this is a figure we only recommend to completists, since the original is a regular release and cheaper, and it doesn’t bring any significant improvements.
For everything else, if you want to see a video review of this figure, you can watch the video we’ve prepared from the YouTube channel El Cuarto 4to Gamer MX, which shows it perfectly.
