In 2017, Tamashii Nations released the S.H. Figuarts Shenron Dragon, a figure that generated overly high expectations. While it featured excellent sculpting, it left much to be desired in terms of mobility and, especially, scale. Despite these shortcomings, it remains a highly sought-after figure.
This is the first and only Shenron Dragon figure that Tamashii Nations has released for the Dragon Ball collection (at least until 2025). It was first released in 2017 as a regular release and has had several restocks over the years, being the 44th figure in the collection.
This figure generated a lot of expectations upon its release, as years earlier, an ultra-articulated prototype with impressive dimensions was shown at some events. However, when the final prototype was launched, it fell short in both articulation and scale. Its neck, arms, and head are as mobile as any other SHF figure, but the torso... is a real headache to move, almost impossible to reposition except as shown on the box. Despite this, the sculpting is top-notch, and once displayed, you fall in love with the figure and realize you’re not going to make it fight anyone. Because of this, despite its shortcomings in size and articulation, it's a highly prized figure among fans.
Given its success, despite its flaws, the brand took a risk and released Porunga in 2022, as well as a re-edition as an 'Exclusive Edition' in the same year, 2022.
At Listacompletade.com, we only recommend this figure if you have space in your display cases because it's quite large in both height and volume.
