Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 - Special Edition

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Special Edition for Nintendo Switch is the only —and very complete— pack released for this 2017 game. This edition includes the original game, the Super Pass (which contains Super Pack 1, 2, 3, 4 and early access to Future Trunks from DB Super), and also the Hero of Justice Pack Set (which contains Justice Pack 1 and 2).

This is essentially almost all the DLC content released during the 8 years the game had been out before this edition.

However, this bundle or Enhanced Edition can only be purchased from the Nintendo Shop.

Super Nintendo (SNES - PAL)

The SNES (EU) or Super Nintendo was the second home console with interchangeable cartridges released by Nintendo for the European market, replacing the Nintendo NES and surpassing it in every aspect.

This console has two sister versions: one for Japan and one for America. In America, it was also called Super Nintendo or SNES, since in both regions it replaced the NES, the equivalent of the Japanese Famicom. However, while the Japanese and European versions shared the cartridge system and design (only the printed name and the electrical system changed), the U.S. version had a different design and cartridge system.

Regarding cartridge compatibility between regions, this console only has the physical limitation of the cartridges, as Japanese and European cartridges are smaller and only have 60 pins instead of 72 like the American cartridges. Therefore, to play a U.S. game, we need an adapter, but no Dragon Ball games were officially released in the U.S.

Dragon Ball Online

Dragon Ball Online is the first Dragon Ball MMORPG released. Akira Toriyama himself was involved in its story and the design of characters and races, allowing players to choose between Humans, Nameks, and Majin. You complete missions, level up, and explore dungeons with other players; it’s the WoW of DB. Unfortunately, the game was only available in Japanese, and its servers shut down in 2013.

Rumor has it that unofficial servers and translations exist, but you’ll have to find those yourself.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is the first Dragon Ball game released for this Nintendo hybrid console; it came out roughly a year later than on other consoles.

The game is a direct sequel to Xenoverse 1, which never released on this console. Its story is set two years after the events of the previous game. In this installment, you assume the role of a time patroller tasked with traveling through key moments in Dragon Ball history to fix alterations in the timeline.

It is a fighting game with multiplayer and competitive modes. Players must level up, learn techniques from Dragon Ball heroes, and customize their own character, including choosing their race.

The game was released on multiple platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC, Stadia, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, but with some graphical restrictions on the console.

It includes numerous DLCs and a Special Edition that expand the story, including content from Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Daima. However, they can only be purchased through the Nintendo Shop.
