Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is the first Dragon Ball game released for this console in 2006. The game also came out for other consoles, like the PS2, but the Wii version had slight differences.
It is the second fighting game in the most famous 3D fighting saga of DBZ, the Sparking or Tenkaichi Budokai series. In its story mode, you can play almost all the battles from DB, DBZ, and DBGT.
The game features up to 135 playable characters (16 more than on PS2). Some Wii-exclusive characters are: Appule, Cyborg Tao, Demon King Piccolo, and Frieza Soldier.
The game itself is the same as the PS2 version, but with the difference that you can use the Wii controllers to perform special moves and control your character. It is also compatible with the traditional controller (Wii or GameCube controller).
In summary, a great game only surpassed by Tenkaichi 3.
The Nintendo 3DS XL enhances the portable gaming experience with larger screens and a longer-lasting battery. Perfect for enjoying glasses-free 3D gaming, it combines comfort with access to an extensive library of titles.
Dragon Ball FighterZ – Legendary Edition was released about six years after the base game and is a much more complete edition than all previous ones. This edition includes the base game, FighterZ Pass 1, 2, and 3, Commentator Voice Packs 1–4, cosmetics, and an exclusive avatar for the SSJ Goku Lobby.
In total, it offers the game plus 19 character DLCs, which is quite impressive.
However, this edition was released digital only and can only be purchased from the Nintendo Shop on the Nintendo Switch.
Dragon Ball Z: Super Butōden 3 is the fourth Dragon Ball Z game released for the Super Nintendo and Super Famicom, although it never had official versions in Europe or America, so we can say it only came out for the SFC. It is also the third fighting game released for this console in 1994.
It is the direct sequel to Super Butōden 2 and the last game with that name, so it remains a 2D fighting game with the same feature: when two opponents move far apart, the screen splits in two to simulate a huge stage. In this final title, players can fight with up to 9 characters, using melee combos, ki attacks, and flying, but with smoother gameplay in every aspect.
This edition does not have a story mode (although it includes characters from the Majin Buu saga) and is mainly designed for PvP, with Versus and Tournament modes only.
Among the playable characters are Goku, Goten, Dabura, Gohan, Majin Vegeta, Trunks, and others.
The Game Boy Advance provides a more powerful handheld gaming experience with advanced graphics and a larger screen. Backward compatible with Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, it's the ideal console for those seeking performance and fun.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is the fourth game in the Sparking! series, known in Europe and America as ‘Tenkaichi Budokai’. It is the fourth fighting game in this epic saga, featuring next-gen graphics and technology with unmatched expectations.
It includes a multiplayer mode focused on online or local PvP, allowing us to compete with friends and family. Its story mode is very complete and includes various ‘What if...’ scenarios that must be triggered by performing specific actions during story mode. Some of these what ifs are really good.
The game features a huge character roster, covering all Dragon Ball sagas, from Kid Goku's beginnings, through the three major DBZ sagas, and even content from DB Super and DB Daima.
For those unfamiliar with previous Tenkaichi titles, the fights take place in 3D environments with full movement freedom across the map, where players must defeat enemies using techniques and melee combos.
Besides being available on PC, the game is also out on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission is born from adapting the concept of Japanese arcade machines played with real cards, machines, and the game of the same name DB Heroes, into a fully digital game, released in 2019 for PC.
The game is a collectible card battle game where we play as Beat, who gets involved in battles and fights to save the world alongside our heroes.
Gameplay consists of 7 cards versus 7 cards battles, featuring iconic Dragon Ball characters and unique transformations exclusive to this game. It features over 350 characters and more than 1000 cards to collect.
Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butōden is the last DB game released for the Nintendo DS platform. It’s a fighting game that was only released in Japan and allows players to battle against others.
The New Nintendo 2DS XL delivers the power of the New 3DS XL without 3D graphics. With a lightweight design and large screens, it’s perfect for enjoying exclusive and classic games in a comfortable and accessible way.
