The GBC (Game Boy Color) boasts a vast and diverse catalog of games and genres, including Pokémon, Mario, and more. However, for Dragon Ball, only one game was available on this console: Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors.
We wanted to create a complete list of all Dragon Ball games for the GBC, only to realize there was just one: a game covering all the DBZ sagas, from the Saiyan Saga to the Majin Buu Saga.
In addition to the game, we also present the legendary handheld console—a must-have collectible for playing the original cartridges of these classic games.
DBZ: Legendary Super Warrior's is an RPG/Strategy card battle game that covers the entire DBZ storyline, from the Saiyan Saga to the Majin Boo Saga. The game is compatible with 2 players via the Cable Link.
The Game Boy Color revolutionized handheld gaming by introducing full-color graphics. Compatible with original Game Boy games and exclusive new titles, it delivers a vibrant, retro experience in a compact design.
That's right, this Nintendo handheld console, the GBC, featured backward compatibility with its predecessor, the classic Game Boy, allowing you to play GB games on your GBC. Many of these games even gained color enhancements. With that said, here are the two DBZ games for the GB that you can also enjoy on your Game Boy Color.
DBZ: Goku Gekitōden starts immediately after the battle between Son Goku and Vegeta on Earth and ends with Son Goku's final fight against Frieza on Namek. It is the sequel to Dragon Ball Z: Goku Hishōden.
DBZ: Goku Hishōden begins at the end of Dragon Ball, featuring the battle between Goku and Piccolo at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, and concludes with the fight against Vegeta during the Saiyan Saga in Dragon Ball Z.

The Nintendo Switch and its V2 version (never officially called that) was released in 2019 with improvements over the V1 from 2017.
In appearance, accessories, and options, it’s the same console as the V1, but it improves the processor making it more efficient, and its battery has also been enhanced, giving us more hours of use.

The Nintendo Wii, or RVL-001, was Nintendo’s seventh-generation console, released to replace the GameCube. This console was a major gamble by Nintendo because it chose not to compete with Xbox and PlayStation in graphics power, instead focusing on gameplay and attracting casual players, not just gamers, introducing its new motion-sensing controllers to interact with games.
This console is also fully compatible with GameCube games, controllers, and memory cards.
It is Nintendo’s second home console to abandon traditional cartridges in favor of discs, but they are special discs developed by and for Nintendo, called Wii Discs, and it also reads GameCube mini-DVDs. However, the console does not play CDs, DVDs, or Blu-ray discs.
The console is region-locked, and games and memory cards are not compatible between consoles and games from different regions. There are disc-based methods to bypass this lock, or console modifications, which allow you to play your games for collecting purposes. This information is for informative purposes only, not for piracy.
Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo is the third Dragon Ball game released for this console in 2009, and the only one developed exclusively for the Wii, taking full advantage of its features.
It is an adventure and fighting game, where players progress linearly through different maps, battling waves of enemies and bosses, while fully using the Wii controls to perform techniques and attacks.
Its story mode covers the Red Ribbon and King Piccolo arcs, split into 9 episodes.
The game includes a Versus mode for PVP matches with friends. There are up to 17 playable characters for tournament or versus modes, including Kid Goku, Kid Krillin, Jackie Chun, General Blue, Arale, and more.
A rare title, but highly enjoyable for fans.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – Premium Collector's Edition is the most complete edition of the game, available on the official release day in 2025, sold exclusively through the Bandai Namco Store.
This edition is identical to the Collector's but with a small extra for purchasing it from the official store. Additionally, it had a very limited number of units, making it the only one (along with the Collector’s) that included the physical game. This edition contains the base game, everything from the Deluxe Edition, meaning access to the first season pass with 4 DLCs, and 3-day early access to each DLC’s content.
It also includes everything from the Ultimate Edition, that is, the Ultimate Upgrade Pack: Goku (Super) outfit with Power Pole, emotes, backgrounds, a customization item, and the Super Shenron summon, all of them cosmetic items.
As part of the collector’s edition, it includes: the physical game, a diorama sculpture of Goku and Broly from DB: Super, and a decorative metal case.
As exclusive content for this Premium Collector’s Edition, which could only be purchased from the Bandai Namco Store, it adds an additional steelbook and 4 cards from the Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion Worlds.
The 4 DLCs from the first pass add over 20 characters based on DB: Super and DB: Daima, as well as cosmetics, and additional story and battle content.
The physical game (cartridge or card) contains the basic installation to play only on the Switch 1, but when inserted into our Switch 2, exclusive graphical updates for that console will be installed.
Dragon Ball Z: Harukanaru Goku Densetsu, also known as Dragon Ball Z: Goku Densetsu in Europe, is a card game based on the different DBZ sagas. It allows players to battle against each other using the console’s Wi-Fi.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers – Limited Edition was released on the same date as the standard edition in 2022. This is the most complete edition of the game. It includes everything from the Special edition, that is, various cosmetic items only available through these editions, the physical game, a decorative steelbook, stickers, a pair of Potara, and a figure of Cell's larval shell.
The cosmetic pack includes: a full outfit, a victory pose, and a vehicle skin.
Dragonball Evolution: The Game is based on the unfortunate live-action film. Its characters and stages come directly from the movie. The gameplay is similar to the previous Tenkaichi titles, which is at least a positive point. The game allows multiplayer and, as a curiosity, lets you play as Bulma.
