Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is the fourth game in the Sparking! series, known in Europe and America as Tenkaichi Budokai.
It is the fourth entry in this legendary fighting game saga, featuring cutting-edge graphics and technology with sky-high expectations.

The game offers a multiplayer mode focused on PvP, both online and local, allowing competition with friends and family.
Its story mode is highly detailed and includes several What if... scenarios that are unlocked by performing specific actions during the main missions. Some of these What if events are particularly memorable.

It features a massive character roster, covering all Dragon Ball sagas: from Kid Goku’s early adventures, through the three major DBZ sagas, and even content from DB Super and DB Daima.

For those unfamiliar with previous Tenkaichi games, battles take place in 3D arenas with complete freedom of movement, where players must defeat their opponents using melee combos and special techniques.

The game was released for Nintendo Switch almost a year after its launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with a graphical adaptation made specifically for the hybrid console.

The physical game (cartridge or card) contains the basic installation to play only on the Switch 1, but when inserted into our Switch 2, exclusive graphical updates for that console will be installed.

The console includes a 6.2" LCD screen to play anywhere, and also comes with a charging adapter that connects to the TV for playing on a big screen. You can remove the Joy-Cons from the console to have two mini-controllers for 2-player games, or place them on the adapter to act as a single controller.

Also, with this new console, we switched to a new cartridge system and the possibility to store and buy our games digitally.

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22 is the first Dragon Ball game released for the console in 1995, and it was an exclusive for the PS1.

It is a fighting game for 1 or 2 players (PvP), with 3D stages and characters made with 2D sprites.

The game is called 22 because it supposedly includes a total of 22 playable characters, but performing a key combination on the start screen unlocks 5 more characters, and the game becomes 'Ultimate Battle 27', now with 27 characters.

Among the 22 base characters are Super Boo, Cell, Freezer, Krillin, Vegeta…, and the 5 extra characters with the trick are: Kid Goku, Roshi, Satan, Goku SSJ3, and Gogeta.

The game does not have a story mode narrating the events of the Dragon Ball manga, but it includes characters from all DBZ sagas.

Although the sprites are decent for the time and there are many characters, the gameplay is said to leave much to be desired.

Wii Family Edition | RVL-101

The Wii Family Edition or RVL-101 was a redesign released 5 years after the original Wii, notable because this model is meant to be used exclusively in a horizontal position (the original one can be placed both vertically and horizontally).

In addition to the position change, we can notice that the console’s logo is now oriented to be read horizontally.

The most detrimental change compared to the original is that it is no longer backward compatible with GameCube games and peripherals.

Otherwise, it remains the same as the original console, with some improvements and bug fixes, but with fewer features.

This edition was only sold in Western markets and was never released in Japan.

The console has region locks, and games from different regions are not compatible. There are methods using discs to bypass this lock, or console modifications that allow you to play your games for collecting purposes. This information is for informational purposes only, not for piracy.
