Kale Super Saiyan is one of the most sought-after BAFs in the Dragon Stars Series by collectors, and the third one that Bandai released alongside series 6 and 7. To obtain this figure, it was necessary to gather the 6 pieces that came with the complete 2 waves. Here, we have compiled those necessary figures, with extra information such as which piece each one includes and the ability to compare prices.
What is a BAF figure?
A BAF figure, short for "Build A Figure," is a figure you assemble yourself using individual pieces obtained separately. In an attempt to mimic Hasbro's Marvel Legends, Bandai included this system in its early waves, which ended in 2019 with wave 9. A total of four BAF figures were released, being Super Saiyan Kale the third of them.
Dragon Stars Series, waves 5 and 6.
The Dragon Stars Series are released in 'waves'. Regarding BAF figures, each 'wave' consists of 3 figures. To complete SSJ Kale, you needed to obtain all the figures from Series 5 and 6 of this collection, meaning a total of 6 figures. These were on sale during the years 2018/20, but today they are difficult to find, as Bandai has discontinued them.
The 'wave' or Series 5 consisted of: SSGSS Vegito, Jiren, and Cabba. On the other hand, the 'wave' or Series 6 included: Mystic Gohan, SSGSS Kaioken x10 Goku, and Golden Frieza. All had a retail price close to $30, but currently, in resale, their value has significantly increased.
What piece of the BAF of SSJ Kale does each figure include?
As mentioned earlier, you need to gather waves 5 and 6 and their six figures, as each one includes a unique and necessary piece to fully assemble Kale SSJ. The BAF pieces included with each release are as follows:
- Jiren: Head.
- Super Saiyan Cabba: Torso.
- Super Saiyan Blue Vegito: Left arm.
- Super Saiyan Blue Goku: Right arm.
- Mystic Gohan: Left leg.
- Golden Frieza: Right leg.
This BAF has an advantage over others, as special and limited editions based on the DB FighterZ game were released for the Gohan figures. These variants also include the BAF piece and can replace the original versions.
The BAF of Super Saiyan Kale is highly coveted, as it is currently the only 1/12 scale articulated figure of this character.
